What is Neuromuscular Therapy?

Neuromuscular Therapy, or NMT, is a specialized form of medical massage. This style of deep tissue massage aims to alleviate pain and dysfunction by identifying and addressing trigger points, muscle and fascia imbalances, and nerve compression for optimal muscular function. It is also utilized in sports massage, as it is frequently tailored to athletes for injury and post-event rehabilitation. You can read more about NMT here.

What is Structural Integration?

Structural Integration, or SI, focuses on manipulating the body’s fascia to improve posture and movement in relation to gravity. Although performed at a medium-light pressure, it is a highly effective form of deep tissue, gradually working its way through to the deepest layers. Practitioners aim to release tension, enhance flexibility, and create better overall body alignment. Find out more here.

In 2019 I began suffering from Sciatica issues. I tried multiple modalities to address this chronic condition to no avail. This includes multiple chiropractors, physical therapists, I even tried acupuncture. However, not until I began seeing Deborah was I able to gain some relief from the aggravating symptoms of this condition which has allowed me to return to the quality of life before it began.  Furthermore, Deborah has given me practical advice to utilize in my weight training to prevent flare ups.  I am a former athlete and she has also addressed other lingering injuries including scar tissue build up in a knee from surgery in 1990 and a shoulder injury that occurred back in 1993.  She has proven over time that Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is a modality that addresses key physiological conditions in a sustainable manner. I highly recommend her services.

It was my first time having a Neuromuscular Therapy massage and I’m so glad that I did it. Deborah did an amazing job finding all my trigger points. I had a bad car accident a couple years ago that unfortunately left my body unaligned. She was really knowledgeable about pain management and letting me know which body parts were affected.

I’m making another appointment soon to help alleviate my pain and align my body back. Thank you, Deborah! See you soon!

I’ve been getting massages regularly for years but wanted to bump up my experience and work with someone experienced in neuromuscular therapy to help relieve my back, neck, and hip pain that traditional massage therapy hasn’t been able to assuage. I’m so excited to have found Deborah! She provides professional, outstanding service and kept finding areas I didn’t even realize were sore until she started working on them. I appreciate the deep tissue releases her techniques provide and was impressed at how much more relaxed my body was after just an hour session. If you’re searching for a great therapist that tailors her skills to your needs, look no further than In Touch Therapeutics!

“I recently visited In Touch Therapeutics and had an incredible experience. For years I have been suffering from chronic pain in my neck and shoulders, which often limits my range of motion. Standard massages have never been effective at improving my discomfort, so I started looking for other therapy options. It was then that I came across In Touch Therapeutics, who specializes in Neuromuscular and Myofascial Therapies. The therapy services offered sounded great, so I scheduled a 1-hr Structural Integration session.

My therapist, Deborah, was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled. What stood out to me the most was the personalized approach. Deborah took the time to understand my specific concerns and tailored the session to address them. I felt a noticeable difference in how my body felt both during and after the session. I left feeling lighter, more aligned, and with a significant reduction in pain and stiffness. I was able to turn my head from side to side without the soreness I was experiencing before my session.

I highly recommend In Touch Therapeutics to anyone seeking solutions to chronic pain. It was a wonderful experience that I can’t wait to repeat.”
